Top hat chimney sweep — Portland, OR

Last updated: September 24, 2026

What affects the price

The final cost for your chimney service depends on a few specific factors. We look at the total height of the chimney stack, the level of creosote buildup inside the flue, and whether you have a standard masonry fireplace or a prefabricated metal insert. If there are structural blockages like nests or excessive debris that require extra labor, that will also adjust the estimate. We avoid hidden fees, but every setup is unique, so we evaluate the condition of your liner and firebox upon inspection.

About this service

This term refers to the traditional, thorough cleaning of your chimney system, often performed by technicians who focus on removing hazardous creosote deposits. Getting a top-tier sweep ensures your smoke chamber, firebox, and flue are clear of obstructions that block airflow. If you notice smoke filling your room or hear scratching noises inside the flue, it is time to call for a comprehensive cleaning. Keeping the system clear prevents fires and improves the overall draw of your hearth.

Summer is the best time to inspect your chimney while the weather is clear. We can easily spot structural issues, loose mortar, or cap damage that might have gone unnoticed during the winter. Getting your chimney serviced now means you are fully prepared for the first cold snap of autumn. Give us a call to book your inspection.
